The Facts
In 2001, an estimated 368,245 victims were treated for dog bite related injuries. Even with proper training it is still possible for a dog that is bred as a working dog to attack you or a loved one, even if the dogs are friendly and do commendable jobs around the community. Since these dogs are typically bred as guard dogs or are trained by their owners, like a police force to work in the K-9 unit and protect, serve and do their job. As a result, they have a tendency to be aggressive.
The owners are legally responsible for any injuries that may occur to you or a loved one as a result of being bitten, even by a working dog. If a dog has injured you or someone you love, the owner is liable for your damages, including medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
